I would like to note that some of the information in this page comes from Legends material…
War in general would be a hard time to fall in love, but imagine living in a society where you aren’t allowed to fall in love. In this particular case, Ahsoka Tano, who was a Jedi Padawan during the time of the Clone Wars. It was a part of the Jedi code that falling in love or even developing any deep strong attachment were strongly forbidden. For the duration of the Clone Wars she was able to live easily by this part of the code until, while on a secret mission to Raxus with Padmé, she met a young Separatist named Lux Bonteri whom at first she strongly disliked due to their differing views on the war and whose side had the right views. The two later discussed their views in a more civilized way shortly after Ahsoka taunted him to see if he would flirt with her. By the time Ahsoka and Padmé left Raxus, Ahsoka and Lux had become friends, although I wouldn’t say that Ahsoka’s crush was evident yet despite the fact that as she and Padmé turned to leave, Ahsoka could barely take her eyes off of him.
They would meet again later during a senate hearing on Mandalore. Ahsoka had gone with Padmé and Lux barges in. Ahsoka was set off guard and she leaned down to Padmé and brought up the fact that Padmé didn’t tell her that Lux would be there. Seems like early signs of a young innocent crust starting there. Evidence became more clear when Lux took the stand and, while talking, stared and smiled heavily at Ahsoka, and she returned that gesture instantly. Lux was soon arrested and Ahsoka immediately went after him and took him to her ship and was headed for Coruscant but Lux had other plans in mind and took the ship to Carlac. (See Clone Wars: ‘A Friend In Need’ for details concerning details about the mission) Ahsoka and Lux and R2 eventually got back to the ship and as Lux was about to eject an escape pod, Ahsoka tries to stop him. He tells her that he can’t and it makes Ahsoka rather sad. She does smile at him and places her hand on the glass and he places his on the other side of hers.
The third and final time (at least as far as we know) they meet up on Onderon and this time, Anakin and Obi-wan are there. Anakin notices Ahsoka losing focus due to Lux’s new romantic interest that isn’t her, and questions her about it. Ahsoka, of course denied it at first, but later admitted that she couldn’t help her feelings. She was able to accept the fact that Lux was interested in someone else although her feelings for him still seemed to show for the entire story arc.
Ahsoka and Lux are a prime example of young teen love in the Star Wars Universe, and when you think of love interests for Ahsoka, everyone knows about Lux. There has been tons of fanfiction stories about the two reuniting and staying together. But, little to the knowledge of many major Ahsoka fans, Lux is not the only love interest that Ahsoka had, in fact, there are three including both canon and legends material. I’d like to go through the other two.
Kidd Kareen

In an early Clone Wars comic book called Crash Course, published by Dark Horse, there was a blue skinned Twi’lek podracer named Kidd Kareen. This comic was written by Henry Gilroy who worked with Davd Filoni on the Clone Wars TV series and even wrote some of the stories for the series such as the slave story arc. This story would have taken place shortly after the Clone Wars movie was released.
Ahsoka and Anakin were sent to Mon Gazza to retrieve a data file that fell into the hands of the Separatists. Anakin was sure that Kidd Kareen was a spy who had the data file and Ahsoka would have to race against him in order to retrieve it back. (Anakin didn’t race since he was already a podracing celebrity.) Ahsoka and Kidd spent a lot of time alone together prior to the race and Ahsoka began to realize that Kidd wasn’t the type of person to steel Republic information since all he was passionate about was podracing. It was clear that Kidd was rather hot for Ahsoka based on how he talked to her and kissed her hand and her cheek; he also gave her a flower as a symbol of her beauty. Ahsoka began to have slight feelings for Kidd while the two of them sat together on top of a pier overlooking the town. Just before the race, Ahsoka and Kidd were about to kiss but Anakin interrupted them. Ahsoka and Kidd watched out for each other during the race and together, they found out who had the data file. As thing’s were winding down and Anakin and Ahoska had the data file back, Ahsoka was riding in Kidd’s podracer while sitting on Kidd’s lap.
When Disney took over Lucasfilm, this comic was one of the comics to be removed from canon and declared as legends which is a shame for many reasons. The story itself is exciting and it brings more of the podracing element into Star Wars, plus it gives Ahsoka a really early and short love story. There is still room for this story to be brought back into canon if they really allowed it to, but I doubt it happens now.
Nyx Okami

Almost everyone was expecting Ahsoka and Lux to reunite in the Clone Wars TV series, but Dave Filoni had other plans for a small romance for her after walking away from the Jedi order. Once again, Disney killed this story by cancelling the rest of the Clone Wars TV series. This story would have shown what Ahsoka was doing in the lower levels of Coruscant after walking away from the order. This story was revealed in the Untold Stories Panel in 2016.
Pablo Hidalgo who is basically the keeper of the canon, mentioned during the panel that he hesitated bringing this story up due to the contingent for Ahsoka and Lux and that this would have been Ahsoka and Nyx and she must have a thing for people with ‘X’ in their name. As Dave Filoni was describing the relationship of Ahsoka and Nyx without saying the word ‘romance’, Ashley Eckstein blurted out; “I think we’re beating around the bush here, Ahsoka had a boyfriend for a hot minute, and his name was Nyx Okami!” Dave Filoni doesn’t mention Nyx as her boyfriend exactly but mentions a bit of how the story was crafted carefully in that way but it isn’t the center of the story. This story was to show that Ahsoka has her own agency and doesn’t need to identify herself by whom she’s with. I personally want to see this story unfold and see how Ahsoka handles another romantic interest.
While this story was never finished in it’s animation, Dave mentions that both the Ahsoka novel and her arc in Rebels were written as if this story and the other untold Ahsoka stories actually happened.
Nyx Okami was a smuggler in the lower levels of Coruscant and he would cross paths with Ahsoka who needed him to fix her speeder. Ahsoka would protect Nyx from some of the people he owed money to. But she also couldn’t tell him that she was a Jedi since Nyx hated the Jedi because they lived in the privileged level of the planet. Somewhere along the way, the two would develope a sort of romance that goes fairly undescribed but it was said to be a short lived relationship since Ahsoka would go back to do some things with the Jedi. Nyx is described as a Han Solo type of scoundrel which I think would be interesting for Ahsoka to be involved with.
Nyx Okami has made his way into fanfiction since the announcement of his relationship with Ahsoka. There is a possibility that we could be seeing this arc in the Clone Wars revival but I doubt we do since it isn’t that important in wrapping things up.
Many people felt stronly that Ahsoka shouldn’t be involved in romance at all; but she’s a character who listens strongly to her heart and feelings. She’s sensitive and developing those feelings are very typical for a teenager and I think her thing with Lux was handled in a very realistic way. Many people also feel that Lux was perfect for Ahsoka while others think he was all wrong for her. I feel that since she worries about the lives of those who risk theirs, it makes sense for her to develope feelings for someone who isn’t always in the line of fire. I also think that placing her in romantic situations is important for her character development and since she is a character that represents the female fanbase it gives girls at that age something to relate to.
Not only girls relate to her romantic struggles though; as a guy who is a fan of Ahsoka, I found her struggle with Lux all too real, I can remember liking a girl when I was a freshman in college and watching her hang all over another guy, the look on my face had to be almost exactly like Ahsoka’s when she sees Lux with Steela.
I personally think that placing her in romantic situations even if the story’s main focus wasn’t the romance, I think is important. While it should be noted that she doesn’t NEED a man in her life in order for her to be a meaningful character or individual, it just helps us as fans relate to her in a much more personal way. Dave Filoni mentioned that he feels more paternal about Ahsoka, so I have a strong feeling that if we see her again, she will not have any new love interests.
